1. What this extension does
LGE PDP QA Extension is a quality-assurance tool for LG.com product detail pages (PDPs).
It scans the currently open page for issues with images, videos, CTA links, on-page text,
and page/SEO metadata, and displays the results in a side panel.
2. Information we collect
When you click “Start QA” on a page, the extension reads the following from that page:
- Image and video URLs,
alt text, and file size metadata
- CTA link URLs and their HTTP response status
- On-page text matched against predefined patterns (e.g. truncation markers, promotional wording flagged by locale)
- Page metadata such as Model Code, MSRP, UFN, page title, and meta description
- An anonymous identifier generated and stored locally in your browser (a random UUID — not your name, email, or account information)
- Scan timestamp, scan duration, and the viewport mode used for the scan
We do not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or login credentials.
3. How we use this information
- To display QA scan results to you in the extension's Summary and List views, and in CSV exports you generate
- To aggregate QA activity for the purpose of improving PDP content quality
4. Where this information is sent
Scan results are sent to a data-collection service operated on Google Cloud Platform
(Cloud Run and BigQuery), under LG Electronics' own cloud project. This service is
accessed with an API key embedded in the extension and enforces a daily submission
cap as an abuse-prevention safeguard.
This service is operated by LG Electronics for internal quality-assurance purposes.
We do not sell, rent, or share the collected data with third parties, and it is not
used for advertising.
5. Data retention
Collected data is retained for as long as needed to support PDP quality-assurance
activities, after which it is deleted in accordance with LG Electronics' internal
data retention policy.
6. Third-party sharing
We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share collected data with third parties for
marketing or advertising purposes.
7. Permissions this extension uses
- Host access to all sites — required so the extension can scan LG.com PDPs (including staging domains) and verify the HTTP status of CTA links that point to external, non-LG domains.
- Debugger — used only to accurately emulate PC/Mobile viewport rendering during a scan; not used to monitor browsing activity.
- Storage / Tabs / Side Panel / Scripting / Active Tab — used to run the scan on the active tab and present results in the extension's side panel.
